Showers Bring May Flowers |
Spring is a time for new beginnings;
the rain cleanses the earth and washes away the old. It is a wonderful
time to “spring clean” your home and smudge any negativity from
your environment by burning White Sage, encouraging positive vibrations
to enter your home by burning Sweetgrass and then burning Cedar
as a House Blessing.
This Month’s Features:
Cypress Oil * Leopardskin
Jasper * Gardening With The Goddess * Forest Rain
Cypress oil is steam-distilled
from the leaves, twigs and cones of the evergreen tree and has
a sharp, clear, slightly spicy aroma, with green resinous undertones.
Various monoterpenes make up a maximum of 70 percent of the content
of cypress oil, including camphene, cymene and pirene. This chemical
family is stimulating and balancing to the mind as well as to
the body. Cypress oil also contains about 10 percent alcohols,
which are toning, energizing and stimulating.
Cypress oil is a valuable healer and can be used to treat various
physical ailments, such as coughs and colds. Cypress oil calms
and comforts your nervous system, at the same time invigorating
and fortifying your emotions. It can soothe anger and is strengthening
during times of transition and upheaval. Cypress oil also improves
circulation, and is especially good for varicose veins. It is
astringent and balances body fluids. Combined with juniper and
citrus, it can help reduce cellulite and perspiration. Colds and
respiratory infections benefit from its antispasmodic properties,
and it is also valuable for relieving aches and pains.
For a spasmodic cough,
massage chest and neck with 5 drops of cypress oil and 2 drops
of cedarwood oil in 2 tbsp. of grapeseed oil. This will have a
drying effect on phlegm, and cedarwood is an expectorant.
For congestion,
add 1-2 drops of cypress with 1-2 drops of rosemary oil to a room
vaporizer at night. This will aid in breathing and act as a decongestant.
Leopardskin Jasper helps
draw into your life whatever you need for physical healing. By
energetically charging the areas of your aura that reflect your
true needs, this stone helps you attract whatever is required
to fulfill them. If worn long enough, Leopardskin Jasper will
strengthen and fine-tune your body’s overall regulatory mechanism,
increasing your personal magnetism and individuality. It strengthens
the Root Chakra and one’s connection to the earth.
“Gardening With the Goddess” (book)
– by Patricia Telesco
Gardening WithThe Goddess represents a whole new adventure in
gardening. Now instead of simply sowing, weeding, arranging and
harvesting, we can learn to use gardening as a spiritual tool
that cultivates our mind and soul. For organic gardeners, for
magical practitioners, for people walking the Goddess tradition,
this book blends earth-friendly approaches with sound metaphysical
methods for powerful and meaningful results. The Goddess represents
the intuitive, creative aspects of humankind…and, after all, this
planet is our “Mother Earth”.
Forest Rain (CD) – Dean
Evenson (includes a Bonus CD rom Forest Video!)
Soft rain falls in the deep forest. Distant thunder merges with
the call of the spotted owl and the songs of a myriad of lifeforms.
Lush music reflects the multi-layered richness of an ancient forest
grove. (native & silver flutes, harp, cello, keyboard and
drumming) – Come listen to our demo …
